For my first recommendation post, I wanted to choose that I not only loved from beginning to end, but also own as part of my collection.
“Stargirl” (from 2000) was one of my favorite books growing up, but the book I loved even more was “Love, Stargirl”, the sequel.
This can only mean that the narration is not meant to be taken seriously, and Gulliver’s perspective is not to be trusted by the reader.
Similar to Gulliver’s Travels, the main protagonist has his worldview altered, in order to show the audience the weaknesses in human perception.
We believe that we have to feel terrible for the rest of our lives for our mistakes, and this poem tells us that we don’t have to.
